Sviaz was launched in 1975 to become the largest event in Russia and Eastern Europe devoted to telecommunications and information technologies.

Sviaz is a part of Russian Week of High Technologies, which brings together several exhibitions, forums and conferences on information technologies, telecommunications, navigation and telematics. Russian Week of High Technologies is a cross-industry platform for the creation and development of the digital economy infrastructure in Russia. In 2020 the Week celebrates its five year anniversary.
