About the event
On April 7, 2022, the XIV International Conference “Satellite Russia & CIS: Satellite Communications and Spacecraft in Different Orbits in the Era of Global Industry Transformation” organized by ComNews Information Group was held in the Smart City Pavilion at VDNH in Moscow.
The event dedicated to the development of satellite communications and broadcasting, as well as the production of rocket and space technology and launch services, was held in a hybrid format and brought together more than 250 participants in total.
The general partner of the conference was ISS-Reshetnev Company, the strategic partner was Russian Satellite Communication Company (RSCC), and the partner was Isatel. The event was held with the participation of the companies Information Space Center “Severnaya Corona”, Iskra Group of Companies, NEBO Global Communications (NEBO GK), XSAT Iraq, InteP, Russian Space Systems.
The conference was supported by significant associations: the Association of Electronic Communications (RAEC), the Association of Data Processing Centers (DPC) Industry Participants, the Association of the Internet of Things, the Russian Association of Aviation and Space Insurers (RAAKS), RUSSOFT Non-Commercial Partnership, ANO Telecommunication Technologies Consortium (ANO TT), the Commonwealth Fiber Optics Association, the Open Network Technologies Association, the IT&Digital Directors Club, the International Academy of Communications (IAC), and the Museum of Cosmonautics in Moscow.
The plenary discussion on new opportunities for transforming the space industry and integrating into the 5G ecosystem was held by Leonid Konik, General Director – Editor-in-Chief, ComNews IG. Brief presentations were made by: Sergey Prokhorov, Director of the Department for Advanced Programs and the Sphere Project, Roscosmos State Corporation, who spoke about the Sphere project as the basis for the development of national satellite communication and monitoring systems; Igor Zabolotny, Director General, Isatel, with the topic: “Satellite and 5G: centers of power at the edge of the network”; Igor Kot, Deputy Director General for Business Development, Gazprom Space Systems, who presented the company’s projects in his speech. Antonina Gromyko, Project Coordinator of the Space Center, Skolkovo Institute of Science and Technology, moderated the second session on national production and the development of domestic private business in the rocket and space industry. The reports were made by: Alexander Kuzovnikov, Deputy General Designer for the Development of Space Systems, General Design and Control of Spacecraft, ISS-Reshetnev Company, on the possibilities and prospects for the development of the assembly and test complex (AIT-center), Daria Chudnaya, Deputy Director General, Success Rockets, on the private space company development in conditions of uncertainty using the example of Success Rockets, Ivan Kosenkov, Senior Project Manager, Skolkovo Foundation, on space startups at Skolkovo Foundation, Nikita Partsevsky, Director General, Orbital Express, on proposals for the development and diversification of the Russian space industry, Denis Zelenov, Director General, Tenzor Lab, on the autopilot for spacecraft. After the reports presentation, a short discussion took place, which was attended by: Roman Zhits, Head of the Private Cosmonautics Department, Aeronet NTI Center, Alexander Kuzovnikov, Deputy General Designer for the Development of Space Systems, General Design and Control of Spacecraft, ISS-Reshetnev Company, Ivan Kosenkov, Senior Project Manager, Skolkovo Foundation, Nikita Partsevsky, Director General, Orbital Express, Denis Zelenov, Director General, Tensor Lab, Daria Chudnaya, Deputy Director General, Success Rockets.
Topic of the session 3 was “The development of satellite communication systems and the place of satellite technologies in the IoT market”. The session was moderated by Roman Yakovlev, Head of the Cosmos Project Office, Atomenergoprom. The session was attended by: Adnan Alemara, Regional Director, XSAT Iraq, with a report on satellite communications and opportunities in Iraq and the Middle East, Andrey Gritsenko, Director General, Information Space Center “Severnaya Corona”, with a report on the current situation and immediate prospects of broadband satellite systems, Alexander Kuzovnikov, Deputy General Designer for the Development of Space Systems, General Design and Control of Spacecraft, ISS-Reshetnev Company, with a report on the integrated infrastructure of satellite communications of the Russian Federation, Andrey Romulov, Chairman of the Board of Directors, Iskra Group of Companies, with a report “Drivers of change: consumer and technologies”, Viktor Strelets, Chairman of SG 4, ITU-R, with a report on the international regulation of the use of the frequency-orbit resource by multi-satellite non-geostationary systems, Inessa Glazkova, Executive Director, NEBO Global Communications, with a report about subscriber terminals using FPA technology, prospects for modems, Valentin Anpilogov, Deputy Director General, VSAT-TEL, with a report “Implementation of “seamlessness” in the Marathon IoT system”.
The final session was also moderated by Roman Yakovlev, Head of the Cosmos Project Office, Atomenergoprom. In the session on satellite communications in socially and politically significant projects in Russia, the reports were presented by Alexander Kondrashina, Director General, Intelligent Instruments, on the topic “Modern technologies for creating satellite communication systems”, and Vladimir Gershenzon, Director General, Lorett, with the topic “New infrastructure of operational satellite monitoring”.
